History
FR1Fragneto is an ancient country Masseria, dating to the middle of the nineteenth century; it is located on the southern ends of the Murgia, at the border of the provinces of Taranto, Brindisi and Bari, and at about 432 meters above the sea level. The city it belongs to, Martina Franca, is an italian municipality, having 49,779 inhabitants, and is located in the central Apulia. Its story is indebted to the one of Philip I of Taranto, of the Angevin house; the town is particularly well known for its late baroque architecture and for the Festival della Valle d’Itria. To this day, its old town is considered as one of the most beautiful ones in the whole Southern Italy, and is characterized by significantly important monuments, that stand among the ancient white alleys, almost as if they were some open air art galleries.
