Nature
The nature at Fragneto is lavish and vibrant and as you enter the estate the first thing that hits you is the rich forest green background. Surrounding the Masseria is about 23.5 hectares of red soil lined off by dry walling, of which 15 hectares of avenues lined with age-old cypresses, woods, pine-woods and olive groves perfect for salutary walks and bike rides and 8 hectares of land used for farming typical produce for you to enjoy. The name of the Masseria comes from “Fragno” a type of oak tree that grows exclusively in the regions of Puglia and Basilicata (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quercus_trojana). In the old days the masseria was surrounded by these trees; the reason for which the original owners decided to name the estate “Fragneto”*. Nowadays those trees have given their place to a variety of vegetation which we have mentioned above. If you feel drawn to the idea of breathing, meditating, walking, running, and even just taking the time to appreciate the refreshing mornings and evenings then a stay at “Fragneto” is the choice for you. *Fragneto means a collection of fragno trees.
