Surroundings
As far as touristic itineraries are concerned the only complaint that you could make here is that there is too much choice. This is a part of Puglia rich in culture, natural beauty and cities to visit. Here are some of our favourites: At about 7/8 km from “fragneto” is the city of Martina Franca (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martina_Franca) outstanding, looking over the mesmerizing “Valle d’Itria” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valle_d’Itria), a splendid green plain dotted with white “Trulli” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trullo). The city’s main attraction is it’s old town; a magnificent example of baroque art, with its little streets, winding white lanes, distinguished buildings and of course its majestic and monumental churches. Moving roughly 30km in the opposite direction you can find Taranto (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taranto) an absolute must! Should on the other hand a longer journey take your fancy you can visit Bari (roughly 70km) or still a bit further away but definitely worth the drive is Lecce. But let’s not forget that some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of puglia are just a 20 minute drive away where you can experience crystal clear waters enriched with an array of colours and where the marriage of the Mediterranean sun and the sea breeze guarantee a sense of well-being sure to last right through the winter!
